Sport Devices

Standard Sport Devices

General Sport Device

Polypropylene shell with crepe extrinsic rearfoot posting, intrinsic forefoot posting and vinyl top cover to mets.  For semi-flexible to semi-rigid control levels.

Pro Sport Devices

Polypropylene shell with top cover type and shell flexibility varied according to the design specific to the sports activity noted.  These devices are tailored to the high-level or professional athlete.  Graphite composite shells may be substituted.

Tennis/Racquetball
Polypropylene shell with extrinsic rearfoot post and 1/8” PPT® extension to toes.  The device is posted less than normal in the rearfoot and the post is not undercut to account for the extensive lateral motion in this sport.  In addition, the extension receives a synthetic suede bottom cover to increase resistance to the wear caused by the shear forces common in tennis.

Golf

Black crepe shell with 1/16” PPT® from heel to toe.  Rearfoot posting is ground into the shell.  A first ray cutout is added to the shell and filled with white Plastazote®.  This flexible shell combined with the first ray cutout allows the pivot foot to go through the extreme range of motion needed to complete a golf swing, yet it provides a reasonable level of control in-shoe while walking.

Soccer/Rugby

Polypropylene shell narrowed on both sides and ground very thin in the heel to allow a good fit in low volume shoes.  A deep heel seat is used to control lateral motion.  A 1/8” crepe extension with a first ray cutout filled with Plastazote® is added to address the extensive use of the forefoot in these sports.

Marathoner

Polypropylene shell with extrinsic rearfoot post, arch filler for shock absorption, and compressible forefoot posting to provide forefoot control in the propulsive phase.  A deep heel seat is added to help control lateral motion.

Runner’s Mould

Black crepe shell to sulcus, with a Thermocork® LA filler to mets.  1/16” PPT® from heel to toe.  Extrinsic rearfoot posting is ground into the shell.  This device is designed as a light weight, shock absorbing competition device for high level runners.

Sprinter

Polypropylene shell narrowed on both sides and ground very thin in the heel to allow a good fit in low volume shoes.  A standard heel seat depth is used.  A crepe compressible forefoot post to sulcus with a first ray cutout filled with Plastazote® is added to address the extensive use of the forefoot in sprinting.

Basketball

Polypropylene shell with PPT® filler and 1/16” PPT® bottom and top covers to aid in shock absorption.  Deep heel seat and lower standard posting values with undercut omitted to control the foot during lateral motion while limiting the potential for ankle sprains.

Aerobic

Polypropylene shell with EVA filler, and 1/16” PPT® bottom cover and extension.  LA is skived to reduce bulk in aerobic shoes.  Extrinsic rearfoot posts are standard and are undercut 10 degrees.  Normal posting values and heel seat depth.  1/8” heel lift is standard.
